MacBook case repairs

I have a midnight blue MacBook Air (which I haven't finished paying for on the interest free yet!) and I accidentally dropped this morning, resulting in a chip on the case. It is at the opening edge and feels rough to the tough. Whilst it is only small I am concerned about it getting worse and because of the midnight blue case it is noticeable. Is this the sort of thing the Genius Bar might be able to repair? I know it is out of warranty and I don't have AppleCare+ so I will have to pay myself. Thanks for any info.

They'd need to send it off, I believe, and they'd recase the whole bottom rather than fixing the chip, so it won't be cheap, but it won't be astronomical either.

Make sure you've backed up all of your data, and be ready for it to take a week or so.

The chip is to the edge of the lid rather than the base- will that make a difference, do you think? Many thanks for your prompt reply. I could kick myself. I placed the laptop on a table and somehow it fell off. No one's fault but my own but annoying!
