Neurofen and calprofen dosage?

For teething I give my little one Neurofen, however when I went to get a bottle they only had calprofen. So got that but am a bit confused. For a 1 year old the dose for neurofen is 5ml 3 times a day. Calprofen is 2.5ml 3 or 4 times a day. But they're the same amount of ibuprofen in each one so do I give the normal 5ml 3 times a day or stick to what the packet says? Anyone dealt with this before?

Stick to what the instructions say, or speak to a pharmacist to clarify. You can phone the place you bought it from. Don’t rely on information from random people on the internet when giving medicine to your 1 year old.

I always use an online dose calculator based on weight for figuring how much medication to give. I get DH to also do the calculation to be sure that we agree.

God no I wasn't going to go against what the packet says unless someone who's a pharmacist or similar said it's ok. Just wondered why if it's the same amount of ibuprofen, why is it half the dose?

It's possibly to do with different frequency interval. It's weight based, this is the prescribing advice app we use to dose

Neurofen and calprofen dosage?

Nurofen seems to give a higher dose than calprofen even though they both have the same amount of ibuprofen in them. I used nurofen usually!

Now I usually use nurofen but they didn't have it so I just got the calprofen and thought as it was the same amount of ibuprofen it would be same dose 🤷 so he's only getting half what he normally gets. That's why I asked if anyone had dealt with it before
