I sold some trainers new unworn on vinted super cheap, £3 as i just wanted them sold. I have all 5 stars and whether it sounds ridiculous I care about maintaining that lol

The person who bought them just left me feedback knocking a star off 'because they are too narrow for her'...???? I didn't make the trainers....I don't get people who fault the seller for stuff they can't help? It's my first time experiencing this, is this normal on there??

People are thick OP. That's all I can say really 🙊

yellowsmileyface · 15/07/2024 09:27

Yes, you get people like this on vinted unfortunately! It's a risk you take when buying items second hand online, that things might not fit as well as you'd hoped. It's hardly the seller's fault. Vinted just seems to be one of those things that brings out the entitled cheeky fucker in everyone.

Your options are to contact the buyer and ask them to amend the rating. Or simply reply to their feedback stating that the size listing was accurate, and leave them 4 stars in return.

I replied saying I didn't make them and was disappointed she felt the need to do that when I'd done nothing but be helpful. I'd like her to amend but I've blocked her from all future items

I've had similar op, twice.

A brand new item, with tags, from a well known brand. They left me a 3 star review stating quick delivery, good communication but the item didn’t fit so she'd need to re-sell. 3 stars! I was furious at the time.

Also had a 4 star once because apparently the delivery was a nightmare and Evri didn't leave her a note saying her parcel was in the shed.

Like a pp said, some people are just thick.

I think that's it, if you'd done something wrong you'd get it but £3 for leather trainers posted the next day and you mark me down for something I can't control. So stupid

I bought a pair of Next jeans from Vinted recently, in the same size I usually wear.

They arrived and I can only assume they were from a decade or so ago, before vanity sizing got hold of them because they were much too small 😂

Not the seller's fault my fat bottom couldn't get in them! They were advertised correctly, sent promptly and packaged decently, which is all I ask of sellers.

She got a 5 star review from me- why wouldn't she?

Somethingsnappy · 15/07/2024 09:46

I came on to say the same thing... People can be very thick! But it's such a shame that you are affected by it.

Is there any way you can contact Vinted and ask them to remove that review for obvious reasons? I don't use Vinted so I'm not sure how that works. They ought to be able to remove reviews that are based on errors like that.

RedRobyn2021 · 15/07/2024 09:47

Have you tried messaging them and asking them to change it?

That is really unfair

I've not had really any bad reviews, but I have left 1 because the item wasn't as described

evtheria · 15/07/2024 09:47

I'd be fuuuuuuming! I am also (way too) protective of my 5* rating haha, this would drive me mad.

I once sold a top on eBay that was Next size 8. It was new! She emailed me to say it didn’t fit and told me to transfer the money to pay for her postage.

I remember thinking “I didn’t make this top! I’m not a “try on” service!”

Looking at her feedback she had been buying clothes in size 10! Anyway, eBay said it was her fault thankfully!

However, on the other side of this is those who sell clothes labelled at a certain size but they’ve shrunk it in the wash.

Although with footwear it’s a bit different isn’t it! 😂 when leaving feedback Vinted allows the buyer to give feedback on how something fits (it’s literally on the feedback page!)

I guess it’s very difficult to ‘police’

DaphneduM · 15/07/2024 09:53

Unfortunate that you've encountered this very dim person! I've had some amazing things from Vinted, which has improved my wardrobe immeasurably. Inevitably there have been some things that for whatever reason don't work out - but that's to be expected buying online. I would never leave a bad review unless there was some deceit involved - and in that case anyway, Vinted ban them. This would be scam I encountered was stopped by Vinted when I reported it, and it has only happened to me once in all the time I've been buying from them.

Muffin101 · 15/07/2024 09:56

The level of stupidity of some people on Vinted shocks me sometimes! I’d be so annoyed about that too, I’m unreasonably proud of my immaculate reviews 🤣 for something that is completely out of your control, knocking a star off is very unfair.

Thelnebriati · 15/07/2024 09:57

I 've stopped worrying about those kinds of negative reviews, sensible buyers know that's not the sellers fault. They don't make you look bad, they make the buyer look bad.

Megifer · 15/07/2024 10:02

Yep, I got 1 star for posting a top too quickly. It arrived the next day somehow and she wasn't expecting me to post for a few days and she was on holiday so she had to rush straight to the inpost on the day she got back before it got returned to me

That's crazy!! She could have messaged you to request that you send it in a few days, or not brought something whilst on holiday. I pride myself on always sending within 24 hours so I would've been fuming at that!

Bjorkdidit · 15/07/2024 10:15

I once got a neutral rating on eBay because the buyer didn't think that the (brand new, sealed, an unwanted item from an M&S beauty box, sent quickly, as described, a bargain price and well packaged) face cream was sufficiently effective in reducing their wrinkles. They'd had the cream for all of 2 days when they left feedback, so I'm really not sure what they were expecting.

Annoying and bemusing, but one that you have to let go because 'people are idiots'.

Tipihed · 15/07/2024 15:45

She's changed it to a 5 star after my reply 😂
