Is a Kobo worth getting if I just want to read library books?

I've been trying to get back into books for a while and I've enjoyed reading a few library books on Libby and Borrowbox on my phone. I am thinking of buying a Kobo to make reading a more comfortable experience and I thought I would save money if I mainly read elibrary books and bought the occasional e- book.

However a few I have looked up that I thought were classics are not in my county e-library! For example, DH wants to buy for me some sci-fi books like Dennis Taylor's Bobiverse books but they're not in the county e-library or Libby or the Kobo store. It's on Amazon though.

I also looked up Dune but it's not in my county's e-library either though I can buy on Kobo and Amazon.

I'm just wondering now about the choices available in the elibraries. I've not looked extensively as don't have a huge list of books to read yet. But I'm just wondering if my reasoning of getting a Kobo over a Kindle - to read mainly library books - is a bit flawed if I find that I'm unable to find very much I want.

Any advice is welcomed! Also would I do better posting this in the Books forum?

I think the books on Libby and Borrowbox change quite regularly so they may have them in the future.
