Hi,

I've been I'll since Friday evening so 48 hours now, I think it is gastritis, I suffer with this before but never normally lasts this long so severe. I haven't been able to even keep sips of water down, I'm so incredibly thirsty so I cannot help to keep drinking water but it all comes back up. I haven't slept for longer then 10 minutes at a time either so I feel incredibly weak, hot flashes, but the thirst is absolutely killing me. I don't know how I can do another night of this and unsure if should go to hospital but I don't feel strong enough I can only lay down I am that weak. The only slight respite I am getting is in a bath so I'm on about my 7th bath of the day. It's a lot of acid and burning in stomach and throat and very painful. Not sure what to do normally worst of it only lasts a day when I've had gastritis before, the vomiting has died down a little but the acid is still coming and still I cannot keep fluids down

If you can't even keep water down then you need to seek medical advice urgently.

You need to go to A&E asap.

Ds (16yo) had a dizzy/vomiting bug last year. I thought he was drinking okay, and he wasn't vomiting much, so I didn't think too much of it. But after 3-4 days I thought he better just get checked out, and he ended up on a drip in A&E. He didn't seem that bad, but while the doctor was checking him, he went from walking in fine and sitting up chatting, to sudden deterioration that meant the GP went to call an ambulance.
He was vomiting up stomach acid (he helpfully told us how much because the GP's sick bowls had measurement on the side...)
