Childminder gift

Our fantastic childminder is closing soon, she is just the loveliest person and we are so sad that she has decided to pack it in. We want to get her something really lovely, she's looked after our little one since he was a baby. What should I get her!?

We're in the same situation..she's looked after both mine and I'm heartbroken that we won't have her with us for the last year before DD goes to school.

We've clubbed together with all the other parents and got a £200 gift voucher for a meal at The Ivy. She is more about experiences than things so thought a super special date night with her husband to celebrate reclaiming their house from all the buggies, highchairs, cots and toys etc would be better than any individual gift. I think a few of the other parents are also doing a smaller personal gift like a 'thanks for helping me grow' plant pot (ours loves her garden so that's very fitting for her) and then just getting the kids to make a card with a heartfelt message inside about how grateful we are that she was part of our lives at such a pivotal stage.

@Thisisntthowisawthisgoing I know the feeling, I have been so sad and none of the other childminders I have visited are even close to how great she is!

That's a lovely suggestion though, thank you.

How about vouchers for the peter pan afternoon tea at the Shard in London (assuming you are in the South?)
