Can a ballet lover help me out?

I want to take DNiece to a ballet at the Royal Opera House for her Xmas gift. I took DD to see Sleeping Beauty when she was 12 and it was magical. Would Cinderella or Hansel and Gretel be better do you think? Both are on this year so we are spoiled for choice!
Thank you so much

Hiya,
Just wondering if anyone could advise…was it silly of me to book standing tickets for Alice in Wonderland this June? I’m taking my 7-year-old daughter, and I’m worried she might not be able to see much. She’s never been to a ballet before, and I’m not sure if she’ll enjoy it, which is why I went for the cheaper tickets. Would love to hear any thoughts!

At the Royal Opera house? Unfortunately I don't think someone that short will see much. The better cheap option is upper slips, you can try to sell and repurchase tickets.

That's a very child-friendly ballet (along with Cinderella and the obvious Nutcracker) so I'm sure she'll love it!

I wouldn’t recommend standing as a first experience or for a child. If you need a budget option look at Slips seats front row or front of Amphitheatre with limited legroom.

What @LIZS and @CheeseSandwichRiskAssessment said. Tiring and a very restricted view for a child of that height.

Where are your seats, EmilyAria? I’ve seen people “shove up” to let a small child see and/or the stewards have let a family into a box (but I think one of them might have had a broken leg).

We’re just as excited to watch the orchestra pit (so prob not the best people to ask).

make sure they know the story; maybe try the soundtrack too.
