Should I change guest sheets during the week?

Having a relation to stay for a week. Don't know her very well as a relation of DP's. Am wondering if I need to change her bedsheets halfway through the week, as they do in hotels. Not the greatest domestic goddess in the world, so would really appreciate MNetters' advice. Thanks.

Fuck no! You're not a hotel!

No. A week is fine. I doubt they change the sheets at home twice a week.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 14/07/2024 15:00

I wouldn't for a week.

TheBigStrawberry · 14/07/2024 15:02

Not for a week. I'd maybe let her know where the spare sheets are if she wanted to change them (or if she was elderly, disabled etc then I'd ask if she wanted me to).

thedendrochronologist · 14/07/2024 15:30

No. As long as they are clean for the arrival

CrunchySnow · 14/07/2024 15:38

Hell no!

gamerchick · 14/07/2024 15:39

No.

TheChosenTwo · 14/07/2024 15:40

For a week, no. I mean you could leave them with a pile of clean linen should they wish to change them themselves midweek but I only do my bed once a week (the kids do theirs once a fortnight) and I hate changing beds.

MumonabikeE5 · 14/07/2024 15:40

You don’t change the sheets, once a week you leave her a set of sheets and invite her to change them and show her where to leave the dirty ones

JaninaDuszejko · 14/07/2024 15:40

No, a week is fine. As long as you have spares if needed.

PortiasBiscuit · 14/07/2024 15:41

I’d leave them a fortnight,

LessOnslowmoreHyacinth · 14/07/2024 15:49

I'd be setting my alarm for every hour and then turfing her out of bed to change the sheets up to 8 times a night. Are people really so grim that they sleep in sheets that have been used for one hour? Oh, and standing outside the bathroom to lob in a fresh towel every 5 minutes. I hope you are insisting that they change all of their clothes each time they go into the bathroom for a wee too because imaginary germs.

Only joking - it's absolutely fine

No chance
