Car crash advice

Hiya,

I was in a minor car crash yesterday. Car in front of me broke suddenly, I went into the back and another car into the back of me. We were all going around 15 mph - my car and the car behind have no damage but there is a substantial dent to the car in the front. I admitted liability for the damage in front car, said I had no need to claim for my car but my insurance company is refusing to accept liability without investigating whether the person behind me went into the back of me first. It happened very quickly so I can’t say for certain but I just want to get this sorted asap.

Is this normal? I thought insurance companies would just accept and pay!

It’s normal. They want to check the car behind didn’t push you into the one in front, then the claim would go to their insurance.
