Do you feel guilty having a lazy day?

I'm waiting for chicken nuggets to cook to add to a salad healthy and settling to watch Hot Fuzz for the 36th time. I was out yesterday drinking and I'm feeling lazy. DS is at his dad's all weekend. DH is at work and will want to watch the game later. I half feel guilty but at the same time I'm really enjoying myself. My neighbours are all gardening and I'm about to pull the blinds down so I can't see them to make me feel more guilt 😂

Nope! But then I don't have kids so only got myself to think about.

Yes I do and I find it hard to switch off mentally, even though I try and tell myself I've earned it. It's in my head, I know.

Omg I was just thinking the same. I did do basic housework yesterday and planned mow the law today. Dh at work. Teenager in room. I break up Wednesday and go away for 5 days Sunday so thinking be lazy and do garden and sort clothes out Thursday. Chicken in oven and all washing done. Working in office 3 long days Mon to Wed so convinced myself to chill. Enjoy your day.

It makes me feel guilty too. Sometimes I actually enjoy getting a cold/virus so that I can retreat to bed and watch Netflix without feeling bad about it!

Absolutely not. I am a single parent and work full time so I do more than enough in the week. Unless I'm on holiday or make specific plans with someone, Sunday is always a lazy day. I've been to the supermarket this morning to get a bit of food for the week but for the rest of the day I will be doing nothing. Will shortly be opening a bottle of prosecco and settling down to read some of my book.

You enjoy yourself and have a rest 😴

CapitanSandy · 14/07/2024 12:37

Sounds like a great day enjoy!

Nope not if I/we need one. Older dc is out today. Toddler has just woken up from her nap and I'm laying on the bed with her staring at my phone while she watches crap on the iPad. We might for a walk later but it will be very little else.
I wouldn't do it every weekend but we've been busy lately and it's important to have downtime too. I love lazy days. Also gives me chance to catch up with things in the house.

Sometimes I feel guilty
Sometimes I don't

But it's a Final Day today so do whatever you like.

I only feel guilty if I have a few too many lazy days! The odd one here and there, fine. We need to rest and recharge sometimes. Have a lovely day 😁

I don't feel guilty having a lazy day but it never makes me feel as good as I hope it will.
