Poss party locations in York

My DN is turning 21 soon and so we are looking for possible venues in York to throw a surprise party. Any suggestions? We don't live nearby so can't go and check out for ourselves... TIA 🙏

Manahatta and pitcher and piano have upstairs bars for parties, i use them for work, also cosy club

Stonegate yard also has an upstairs and a separate room in the courtyard but i don't know capacity.
Revolution has an upstairs space you can hire too.

I've known 21sts at the Merchant Adventurers hall. The upstairs room at the Ivy might work. Various halls and WMCs around that we have done/been to kids parties at! I think also Brew York upstairs bar can be booked.
Downstairs in Skosh is lovely for a private family meal.

Merchant Adventurers is lovely. I went to a gorgeous wedding at Barley Hall but I’m not sure they do parties.

@rainraingoaw I was asking information as there are lots of things to factor in,budget, ppl attending, location, date etc they were dismissive , why should I or anyone bother to help if the op can't be bothered
Ask is cheap chain restaurant yes it's in a nice building but, it's still a cheap chain restaurant

Middlethorpe Hall Hotel was very nice/ Hazlewood Castle as well (just outside York)

I think more casual vibe. Due to distance the number of family members will be small so it will be more university friends, I think.

You can hire river boats for parties which are good but work best in nice weather.

Micklegate social has a room to hire. Nice bar.
