Anyone else woken up sick and feels a bit sorry for themselves?cough that has been light is hawking and temperature is 39.9 (I spike high temps when I get a temp so this is pretty normal for me)

As I still have a frozen shoulder getting comfortable is nesr impossible.

We are meant to go to SILs for a bbq today but I won't be going anywhere further than the sofa.

Wondered if anyone else was in a similar boat to share sympathies with?

AuntieMarys · 14/07/2024 06:39

I woke up yesterday with what is possibly covid. Never had it. I actually would welcome the Grim Reaper at the moment. Supposed to be away next week.....

Applepencilplant · 14/07/2024 06:42

No but 10 days ago I had covid. It was miserable.
I hope you feel better soon.

@Bigpaintinglittlepainting. Will you be able to do that at 3? I just walked downstairs for water and felt faint (I know its the temperature I'm waiting for painkillers to kick in in)

@AuntieMarys covid can be grim really make you feel sick.

Thank you @Applepencilplant

On holiday in a touring caravan and had sore throat yesterday, just got up to clear my pipes, rain chucking down to add to the holiday feel. Hoping it's just a bog standard cold and not anything more. Weather looks horrible today so I shall just feel sorry for myself, I'm sat at other end of caravan so I don't disturb DH.

not me but currently laid with my niece whose 4, she keeps projectile vomiting every 20 minutes and has done since midnight. She’s not slept at all and we’re both covered in it. 5 changes of pyjamas and a bath later and still no good.

Oh god that's awful for you both !! I hope she feels better soon.

I don't know what to do about work, might just medicate myself up to the eyeballs and go !

runningonberocca · 14/07/2024 07:47

Yes- I woke up the same way yesterday- sore throat , cough, sinuses completely blocked - feel awful still. Did a Covid test ( my DP is clinically vulnerable and entitled to antivirals) but negative. And it’s lovely and sunny this morning which somehow makes it worse!

Enko · 14/07/2024 08:00

@BobnLen. That sounds miserable especially when it's meant to be you having a nice time.

@Tallulahe that sounds nasty hoping she will soon have thrown it all up and gets some rest (and you too) so hard wheb they are that age too.

@Bigpaintinglittlepainting guess we have all done that at some point but really does take it out on you.

@runningonberocca yes it makes it worse when weather is sunny and nice. Oddly also worse when it's raining.

Hope you do, we had to cancel our holiday due to Covid.

Thescarynun · 14/07/2024 08:01

Earlier this week I woke up with a very sore throat in the larynx area, that progressed to ear pain, headache, fever and general hit by several buses feeling, to the point of not actually being able to stand up for 2 days. DH the same two days after me, we both tested & we've got Covid.

Whattheduck · 14/07/2024 08:21

I’ve had a bad head since yesterday and feel like I’ve got a cold coming.I’m going to drop Dd at work for 9.15 then she’ll finish at 4.00 Dh is going away this morning with work so I’m going to come back and snuggle up with the dog and watch tv or listen to a podcast.
Hope you all feel brighter soon

Louu247 · 14/07/2024 09:35

I’ve got pneumonia now and had covid last week utterly awful, hope everyone is feeling better soon xx

Enko · 14/07/2024 09:40

Painkillers have now got my temperature down to 38.2 so I'm feeling a bit more normal.

Hope pneumonia gets better @Louu247 I've had that years ago and wow it floors you.

@Whattheduck hope your day with the dog gets the worst.of.it. (mine came.back from his walk stinking of pond water)

@Thescarynun I've tested and it's not covid. How are.you feeling now better or?

Thescarynun · 14/07/2024 15:22

@Enko yes thanks, I am much better than earlier this week, not yet 100% but I think a few more days and I'll be fine.

Enko · 15/07/2024 08:14

How is everyone today? I've called in sick to work and am awaiting gp to come back to me pretty sure it is a chest infection. Temp back up to 39 8

OP posts:
Louu247 · 15/07/2024 12:11

Still really bad.so out of breath it’s unreal . How are you? X

Enko · 15/07/2024 21:27

@Louu247 I feel so sick temp still not really coming down. Went to GP today as thought it was a chest infection
Chest is clear Covid suggested took a test its negative so basically I have the flu. I feel so pathetic and keep bursting into tears.

Slightly on the mend. Aching body has subsided and I just feel like I have a shocking head cold. Very tired

Billyandharry · 15/07/2024 21:54

Just getting over a week of covid. Only thing that helped was old fashioned steam inhalation. Get well soon all it's no joke.x

Aw hope you get well soon, I thought I was coming out the other side but now feel like shit again!!

MiscellaneousSupportHuman · 15/07/2024 21:57

There's a covid outbreak at DH's work. I'm just waiting for the boot to drop.

It's a shame that both surveillance and information in the UK is so utterly crap at the moment. I don't want to keep getting covid (because I seem to go down with every other damned thing in the weeks after, and feel a bit washed out for ages, even if I wasn't that ill), but how do you know when to be a bit more cautious when there's a big peak underway if the only info is so damned hard to find?

And yes, there's a big wave going on right now. So much for seasonality!
