We are young family thinking to buy a house inBournemouth/Christchurch. Currently living in London. I see mixed messages across the net about rundown centre and crime. I remember closed shops and barely any ppl around 2 years ago. I'm worried it will get worse in a couple of years so I'm a bit hesitant about the move. Any thoughts?

Hi @Jerrycat we are also planning to move (from Bucks) with DH's work, visited a few weeks ago (mostly Christchurch) and couldn't have got a more different impression, the place was heaving! Centre/seafront/splashpark/parks were all pretty full of people, granted it was high season & a sunny day so have no doubt things are a bit different in winter, but round here isn't exactly buzzing in January either! Schools is a different issue, we've found quite a few are full - fortunately looking at yr3 entry for eldest so the Junior schools open up as an option, just not sure where/how to live just yet..Whereabouts are you in London? From what I know of London I suspect crime is more serious there..(although have no doubt there are issues like anywhere)
