Anyone know about sky boxes

Anyone know how to get programmes you have saved off the box? We have had our box for 16 years, but I have saved/kept programmes on there for years (eg when my friend went on first dates 😂)
Can we get them off somehow?

They are designed to not let you copy from them, for copyright reasons.
The same goes for all the other TV boxes, Virginmedia etc.

Yes I suppose
I am talking twenty mins of one prog from 7 years ago, not pirating the latest cinema releases but I guess there is a line. I will keep looking into it.

Could you play the programme you want and somehow record it on something like an iPad so that it's on a newer device?

If your friend was on first dates there might be an online archive with the channel (was it channel 4? E4? I can't remember now!) that might be another option?

I moved from sky+ to sky glass (no planner so no use to me) and therefore subsequently sky Q.

They told me I couldn't take my programmes with me. Which was annoying as I had stuff for years that i loved and had no automatic deletion date on them. But now have to buy from them if I want them.

I decided not to and bought dvds of all the programmes (mostly films so that was possible) instead. There's only one I couldn't get cheap second hand at the time. Must look for that now you've reminded me...!
