How long do you leave your dog in a work day

My hours have really upped at a school I work at and I'm now there every day doing roughly 5hours a day I feel terrible for our 2 year old dog don't get me wrong he gets walked early morning and evening but I just feel really bad for him for being alone in the day I leave the radio on for him and water always available anyway I'm wondering about getting someone in to play with him let him out for a wee midday but wondering if it's a silly idea how long are your dogs left for

Dogs are sociable pack animals, unlike cats.
Leaving them alone hours on end is just selfish

4 hours alone at a time, maximum. Pay a dog walker to come half way through.

Dodgy day care / dog walkers are a new thing. Dogs were well and healthy before they were a thing.

I wouldnt leave my 2 year old dog for longer than 3ish hours which I manage through me and the husband taking it in turns or one of the kids minding him. If it was any longer I would hire a dog walker.

so take it you’re chilled with your dog being left alone regularly for many hours at a time

and loads of things used to happen that we now realise… pretty shit and / or can be improved
