Does this look like bad fake tan?

I went to the GP about 2 years ago as I had a patch of discoloation. The area was white with no pigment

I have dark olive skin

It's now spread to my hands and I'm pretty sure it is Virtiligo

I went back and he said 'Do you fake tan? That does go patchy'

I am interested to see if it looks like fake tan?

I tried explaining that no, that's my skin colour. The white patches are the discolouration but he didn't seem to believe me and sent me away with an emollient hand wash...

Want to go back but just wondered what people thought

Looks like vitiligo to me. DP has it. He is very pale so it only becomes noticeable if he catches the sun but his main patch is across his head and face. He also has hypothyroidism which is closely linked with vitiligo. It can be linked to other autoimmune diseases so I'd persevere with the GP (even though they sound like an idiot).

You need a different GP, ask the receptionist for a competent one.
