Recommendations for fragrance under £10 ish

I’m asking here rather than S&B as I’m a bit nervous of venturing in there!

I got a bottle of Fresh Mandarin perfume from M&S for my birthday and it’s lovely (but quite musky, not citrusy on me). The fragrance stayed all day and I’m delighted with it. I also love Next Paradise

I don’t have much spare money, but I do love perfume. Has anyone got any cheap ish recommendations?

The Soap & Glory 'mist you madly' from Boots is really fresh and lovely. It's a body spray rather than a perfume.

Julyshouldbesunny · 11/07/2024 21:46

Next Amber....

LiterallyOnFire · 11/07/2024 21:47

Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers is very summery and almost an exact dupe for Calvin Klein Escape. It's always very affordable.

I love a bit of Elizabeth Arden Green Tea - you can get it on Amazon for a tenner or so.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 11/07/2024 21:50

They have lots of lovely perfume in M&S.

VivaciousRadish · 11/07/2024 21:51

Oooh I’m going to make a list! Thank you

I had a bottle of Sunflowers about 30 years ago. I’d love to smell it again

Impulse have just re released O2 pear and freesia and it's as nice as I remember it from the first time round!

Next have nice perfumes and M and S do too.

Fathomless · 11/07/2024 21:54

Elizabeth arden white tea perfume is beautiful, I've just discovered that this year

LiterallyOnFire · 11/07/2024 21:56

Between us, we sound like the Elizabeth Arden marketing department! Grin Buy we must be onto something if three of their fragrances have been recommended.

Worriedmum40284 · 11/07/2024 21:58

M&S do a little taster pack of their perfumes - think it's about £5 and you get a number of tester size sprays. Some really nice scents and a good way of seeing what suits you.

VivaciousRadish · 11/07/2024 21:59

You definitely are!

I’ve spent so much money in the past on perfume (not more than the average person I’m sure, but a lot) and I just don’t have the money anymore. It’s lovely to think that there’s so much choice

Are there nice men’s ones?

This is what I mean - they do another version too: www.marksandspencer.com/discover-intense-discovery-set/p/hbp60677859#intid=pid_pg1pip48g2r7c2

VivaciousRadish · 11/07/2024 22:01

Oh my god I want the m&s tester pack. I really recommend the fresh mandarin

Elizabeth Arden, green tea...I bought a bottle for about £8 I think on amazon.

Zara does some nice ones too

Comedycook · 11/07/2024 22:03

Sorry I see @CissOff also said the same thing!

Yes a lot of love for Elizabeth Arden!

FanofLeaves · 11/07/2024 22:04

I bought two Lidl ‘dupes’ yesterday- one for j’adore Dior and the other for Coco Mademoiselle.

they are less than £6 each so my expectation wasn’t high but they’re actually really nice and and DO remind me of the real versions of both those scents- perfumes I used to get and can now no longer afford! Of course the fragrance doesn’t last long but at that price who cares.

DH wears them men ones too, and they smell really good. I think his favourite one is Homme which does have notes of the original Hugo Boss.

CheeseSandwichRiskAssessment · 11/07/2024 22:04

I like m&s white coconut

mamabluestar · 11/07/2024 22:14

From a recommendation on Mumsnet I subscribe to Scent Addict Scentaddict

It's £12 a month for a 12ml bottle of which ever perfume you want to try that month. The thought of the rows and rows of expensive perfume sent my head in a spin and would put me off even looking

I have bought a few dupes from
Blossom perfumery recently- a couple of the were really good and very cheap. So go to Boots and find an original that you love then see if it’s available on Blossom.

Just pink by next.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely. Costs about £10 from home bargains. I just love it. Get lots of compliments on it and it tends to linger but not too sickly

TK Maxx is your friend then.

You can use the bottle of that one as a potential weapon of self defence too! Really useful palm sized but heavy. It doesn't suit me anyway so I carry it in my coat packet if I'm out late.

TheHuntSyndicate · 11/07/2024 22:35

Avon?

rosyvalentine · 11/07/2024 22:35

Zara has some good ones for less than a tenner. Recently bought one of their vanilla scents and it's lovely. Also Perfume Parlour does some well-regarded dupes. I have one of their Tom Ford pretenders and it's almost exactly the same as the real one (which I also have).
