Have Labour actually said they'll means test state pensions?

I've only seen it here, can't find anything on the news sites.

What does means testing look like? I've planned for a comfortable but not lavish retirement, which includes the state pension from 67.

Removing that element won't leave me starving, but would be the difference between surviving and doing some travelling.

I also have some savings, my comfort blanket in case I need care. I haven't planned to spend them on "lifestyle"

Is this what they mean, or do they mean the very wealthy won't be able to claim a state pension?

I don't disapprove in principle, but it seems harsh to do it to people nearing retirement, who don't have time to change their plans.

Or maybe I'm worrying over nothing?

No.

No.

🤣 MN does seem very worried about a Labour government, but everything I've seen so far seems very positive, although obviously they need to deliver.

Just the change in language is like a breath of fresh air.

I haven't seen any statements to suggest this.

No. It's a lie being spread by bitter Tories.

I think an advisor mentioned it. I think any party that thought about doing that would be voted out at any election due to voter demographics of all political colours. They have however said they are not renewing the capacity to take 25% of pension pots tax free on retiring, unsure of how many years time the current legislation runs for.

It seems unlikely - it would be really expensive to means test something paid to so many, there would have to be a huge saving expected to make it worth their while
