Top 20 places you would take your children on holiday

If you could only take your children on 20 holidays (but could be to anywhere at any price) where would you take them?
Would love to hear people's thoughts on which places they have loved or would love to take this children.

Wish list... Definitely on an African safari, will do it when they're older. Would love to visit every part of Europe, we've done alot of it, but certainly not every country yet! Canada, again, we will do this when they're a bit older. Thailand, booked for next year and cannot wait, after seeing how great it looks, and how much is on offer for children. Japan, Australia, and travelling route 66 in America I think would all be great experiences for kids.
Our favourite family holiday was Mexico (playacar), absolutely fantastic place to take children. So much to do, so much to explore, the wildlife was unreal, it really was spectacular. Would go back in a heartbeat. Valencia is also another family favourite of ours, not as touristy as the Spanish islands, and you get a real taste of proper Spanish lifestyle.

I'd do a place that offered a different landscape or climate on each trip. For example, somewhere with desert, somewhere with rainforest, mountains, australian outback, natural wonders like yellowstone, volcanoes, grand canyon etc. Our youngsters will learn to appreciate what they know by seeing it for themselves and hopefully want to protect it.

I'd also take them to see human wonders. Big cities, ancient structures such as pyramids, temples and shanty towns.

I've never had the money to travel with my children but if I had had enough I would have done much more exploring with them.

Walt Disney world & Universal, Orlando in general

Skiing

London

Alton towers (theme parks in general)

Highlands & islands of Scotland with Loch Ness & beaches

Oman and Italy, as we've had such lovely experiences with people there as children are adored.

Interesting parts of our own country, like Scottish Highlands, nice beaches, Lake district.

Safari is a dream, when mine are older.

Somewhere not just sunny! Like Iceland or a skiing/snow holiday, or somewhere in rainy season.

Catching their interests just right is an aim of mine, like Egypt if they are fascinated by mummies, or when I took DS to Portugal just as he'd decided seafood was his favourite.

Lapland (when young enough to still believe in santa and magic)
Disneyland Paris
Florida
African safari
Japan
Australia
Thailand
Bahamas
Maldives
New York
Italy
Egypt
New Zealand
Aruba
California
Mexico
Costa Rica

Done a few of these with DS and loved them.

@Cactiverde I think a safari would be pretty great. And a road trip in the US has been something I've always wanted to do.
Think I'd like to do this for a longer trip maybe 4 weeks so would need to sort it with workplaces.
@Tumbleweed101 like that idea of making sure you visit a whole variety of landscapes.

@Carebearsonmybed I agree about London and the Highlands. I havent taken my children to both places. I will always remember trips to London I had as a child and I think the Scottish Highlands is the most beautiful place I've ever visited.

I highly recommend Alaska, part cruise, part train, part camper van.

Also recommend island hopping in Greece with teens

I also highly recommend taking your dc to Normandy, the beaches, the museum's, the bayeax tapestry, food, drink ... the overnight ferry was always a hit too. Fairly affordable too

We have plans to do Lapland, Japan and a safari with DS at some point in future. We've not been to any of those ourselves so no idea if they'll live up to the hype but I think they will.

In terms of places we've been to, I want to take him to Thailand, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Barcelona. Husband wants to take him to Florida for the theme parks and space centre stuff. If he wanted to go to Australia, I'd also be up for that as I've been before and enjoyed it.
