We have so much stuff and it doesn’t help that I’m the only one in the house that throws stuff away!

We are all ND (some undiagnosed). My husband keeps everything and never seems to throw anything away. I’m constantly going through things but our drawers and cupboards are over flowing. We have space for what we need if we got rid of stuff!!!

I’m wondering if to call in a de-cluttering service but in reality we need Stacey Solomon! Has anyone done this before? How does it work? Did you manage to stick to rules after they’d left?

Gathering stuff for another charity shop drop:
the bedding mentioned before
double inflatable guest mattress we no longer need
three crystal bowls that we were wedding gifts but not to our tastes
three pudding basins of various sizes (somehow we had seven!)
a chest of drawers that I though I might shabby chic but really I never will

I have and it was the best thing ever. It was expensive but worth every penny. The first day they did my bedroom & hall cupboard. They went through every item and I had to decide keep donate or bin. We filled 30 bags of rubbish & 10 bags for charity.

Then they organised. Wardrobe was colour co ordinated. Drawers all meticulously folded and everything else labeled & in storage

I got them back to do my living room & kitchen & again was worth every penny

Every single item left in my house has a place.

I have problems with chronic disorganisation. I've recently started working with a declutterer that I found on the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers website. She seems very good and has an understanding of the complex issues I have that have led to the disorganisation. I worked with another declutterer previously from the same organisation who didn't have that understanding so it didn't work out - so I think some declutterers are better than others and it's probably trial and error

Sorry my post is on the wrong thread! Never used a professional but perhaps wish I had 🤣🤣 Been plugging away at it for a long time - but am seeing lots of progress. Good luck with it
