Late 30s. One child and in a relationship. Child is 6 and to my ex who has started doing more as she's got older. He does about 30 percent of care 2 weeknights and 1 weekend in 4. I work 4 days in senior job with 45 mins commute. One weekday off a week and weekends.
I go the gym 3 times a week.
I have time to do things ie clean the house etc but I just feel overwhelmed alot. There's a lot of shows etc on for end of term I have to work around and going on holiday and general life but I don't think I should feel like this ?

thats how my anxiety shows itself. Overwhelmed and then I freeze. Excercise on rowing machine helps and walking outside and I’m medicated on lexapro.

Maybe I'm like my mum. She's retired but still says she's got loads to do lol.

Yep am with you.

Single parent to a 7 year old. “coparent” with my ex amicably enough but the split is about 85/15 in terms of actual hours, with me doing the majority, and all of the life admin etc. for our son falls to me.

I also work 5 days a week in a really intense creative job, and am trying to progress my career (been stalled for a while), and have periods of intense busy-ness and mad deadlines (in the midst of one of them now).

This week, I have 3 separate projects to deliver, DS has come down with chicken pox, end of year school shenanigans to navigate, 6 week holidays are looming with the endless juggle, and my house looks like I’ve been burgled. Haven’t been on a date for 7 years. Don’t get time to exercise. Rarely go out with friends - though I do make sure I have and maintain friendships as best I can (which sometimes feels like One More Thing, but it’s important and they’re people I love)

Ive taken on an allotment to try and get some exercise/ reconnect with the world and for my mental health, which is helping, but in general I feel about one wobble away from a complete nervous breakdown.

But you have a lot more on than me!

I am a single parent with two children , I have them most the time. Their dad prob has them 1-2 weekends a month (more in holidays).
I also work 4 days a week . I am feeling very overwhelmed at the moment with everything end of term happening at the same time as some work deadlines due. Got end of term parents evening/shows and my eldest is away with school which has made me quite anxious.
I do suffer from anxiety which seems to have reared its head more the last few weeks and i think is making the overwhelm worse at the moment.
