Does anyone else always feel really emotional on their birthday? I always spend the day crying 😭

Oh no! Happy birthday 🥳 🎂 🎈

what have you got planned for the day? Can you keep busy so you are more distracted? I used to hate birthdays but have went away for a few days the last few years and that has definitely helped.

Ah sorry you’re feeling low, that’s rubbish. My grandad used to say the only alternative to having birthdays every year is to be dead… and I know what I’d rather!

Happy birthday! Flowers

It was my birthday on Wednesday and I spent the morning feeling the same. DH took me out (reluctantly on my side at first) in the evening for food and some drinks though which definitely helped.

I don't know if you have anyone who would do anything with you but buy yourself something nice as a treat. Even if it's just a Mars bar, a new book, a bottle of wine or a magazine you haven't read in a while. Anything that will feel like a treat to you.

Happy birthday 🍰
Birthdays don't have the same impact on me. Sounds like it's not a good day for you.
Do you usually mark your birthday? Can you do some kind of self care to treat yourself?

Lincoln24 · 09/07/2024 13:55

Yes I have always found birthdays emotional and difficult, I think it's the passing of time and being confronted with the fragility of it all, and how insignificant we are. Anyway hope you can enjoy it as best you can, treat yourself x
