“Have a word with yourself”

We often hear this phrase when being reprimanded like a naughty child for some misdeed.

So, if you were to have a word with yourself -
What would you say?!

"I did and she said Fuck off". 😀Honestly, I've never had this said to me, I suppose it depends on the context whether it's in jest or serious as in "sort yourself out". If serious, I'd question what they mean or walk away and note not to speak with them again.

I would quote the wise Oompa Loompas: what are you at getting terribly fat? What did you think would come of that?

Put the fork down, fatso.

Really? I've never heard this phrase, but I don't have anyone in my life who reprimands me like a naughty child.

Someone said to me recently 'I'm going for a walk this evening because I need to have a meeting with myself'. I hadn't heard it before but it made me laugh, it's exactly what you need to do sometimes.

@Alalalalalongalalalalalonglonglilong I’ve not heard that one before but “have a word with yourself” is said a lot on MN 😁
