I was in M&S, picking up a bottle of water on the way back from a lovely day out and I made the mistake of looking up and catching sight of myself on the security camera 😖😱

Honestly, I couldn't have cried. I was actually feeling pretty good about myself before then (for a change) as I'd been to the theatre and was a bit dressed up. Well, that didn't last long!

Do they have those aging filters or is this reality? In which case, could they add those youthful, less jowly filters?... 😂

They are certainly not flattering. The lighting and angle are absolutely awful.

Yep, they’re notorious for it. My friend said there’s a lot of twitter threads dedicated to this subject. I never look at them!

Sometimes I’m up at 4am for earlies at work, and calling into shops on the way home by midday.
Put it this way, what I saw on that camera could be used to scare children away from danger😱 I’m sure I let out a squawk of horror!
Tired, pale, exhausted face, eye bags, jowls, hang dog expression, hair maddened by the weather… and then I glanced at the camera…
Truly an evil idea.

Yes! I try to remember not to look. And wear large sunglasses, lol..

@TimeForMyMonthlyNameChange Oh, they're the worst! I don't understand why all hairdressers don't invest in good mirrors and lighting. I sit there for hours every couple of months trying to avoid my reflection, which is obviously near impossible.

All cameras lie! Just been looking at some recent photos my Dh took - no idea why he took a picture of a fat, grey haired, elderly woman…… I’m 21 for the record (for the third time!) next month and I will
not be dissuaded.

Very early Sunday morning I did a bit of body maintenance - soak in the bath, hairwash, all over moisuriser, face serums, big bouncy blow dry with my trusty Babyliss turning thingy before heading off to have brunch with a friend. Called into the local Coop to buy the newspaper and glanced up at the screen and looked so dreadful I could have cried!

I muttered 'Oh, just f*ck off' under my breath, to no one in particular

Oh God yes, my hairdressers mirror is horrific and huge. The lighting is appalling . I look like an absolute hag in it. Yet I look at my hairdresser's reflection in it and she looks fine! So maybe I am in fact a hag 🙈.

Aldi self service till cameras are the work of the devil. Avoid.

Yes but weirdly the Asda ones make me look gorgeous? Always have to try not to admire myself too obviously!

They must use the same technology as the passport photo booths!

Whenever I catch sight of myself in the ones in Morrisons I always think that it should be accompanied by a headline saying "She may be armed and should not be approached under any circumstances".

Yeah they are awful. As are changing room mirrors and hair salon mirrors. Maybe it’s all mirrors or else it’s just me 😭

I find H&M mirrors and M&S mirrors are hideous and I hate them. Absolutely horrific.

God this. Actually don't get highlights anymore because of it, too many hours staring at your self ! Awful

M&S mirrors are deadly! I don't look at them, particularly the back view 😢
