I can't actually believe it. On Friday night, after 15 long months on Isotretinoin, I took my last tablet. Monday morning I woke up with one side of my face covered in spots very similar to what I had previously. Today there are some new ones on my forehead and chin.
I'm actually beyond devastated. I've been lucky with minimal side effects, but still I've had the most uncomfortable eyelids flaking and red for months and month and months along with flaking and dry lips. But it all seemed worth it for the clear skin it gave me. It worked quickly, with in 2 weeks my skin was clear. They left me on a low dose as it had been so effective with low side effects.
I went straight back to the GP, who have prescribed a cream. But dermatology discharged me the day of my last monthly appt and there was years of waiting lists (I waited 18 months, but its longer now). I don't know what to do with myself. I don't know if this is normal (my googling says it comes back months later, not 2 days!!).
I've massively overhauled my diet in the time I've been on treatment and lost 5.5st so it isn't diet related or lack of water, or anything that I can pin point.
Has anyone else had this experience? Feeling alone, sad and like I'm going to have a lifetime of acne (I'm 40 later this year).
