I'm currently in resus with my mum. The staff have spent over an hour trying to save a young adults life, who has overdosed. CPR on going for over an hour. They won't give up. They've discussed stopping twice but still going. This person is alone. They don't know the name. Found in street.

With respect, I don't know what this situation has to do with the NHS? Are you implying medical staff who aren't part of the NHS would happily allow an OD patient to die?

Surely every doctor and medical department in any developed country would do the same to a critically triaged patient delivered into A&E. This is what doctors & nurses take an oath to do.

NHS doctors and nurses are woefully under-compensated for what they do. They deserve much better payment and working hours instead of sentimental accolades on social media or people clapping for them like children.

I posted because the NHS gets such negativity.

Live savers who should be respected and rewarded appropriately.

We’re not all bad, thanks 😀

I hope your Mum is ok.

They didn't make it. So very sad.
