Bridesmaids are in sage green. It's obviously pink but is it it still a bit too bridal?

If you have to ask you already know the answer.

Another aunt has a loo dolly. It's been on the window ledge since at least the 1970's as it was there when I was a child.
DS used to be terrified of her and wouldn't use the bathroom alone. We visited recently and were disappointed to discover that the plastic has degraded so badly that her head has fallen off. I think he was planning on kidnapping her. (He's 14, they do stuff like that.)

VaddaABeetch · 07/07/2024 12:18

It looks like a 1970s nightie to me. You could get the matching bed jacket?

Well I think people are being a bit mean about the dress! It looks lovely on the model and my DDs often were dresses that I have called nighties so I guess it's a young person fashion thing.
It does look a bit wannabe bridesmaid.
But it does depend in wedding - if average age of wedding guest is someone in their twenties and the are all dressing up and it's an extravagant affair then it's fine. If average age of wedding guest is 50 and it's a less dressy wedding maybe not.
Can you run it past other wedding guests? But if In doubt keep looking.

The head has fallen off! Definitely the stuff of nightmares!

Is it a nighty?

It's a bit too seduction surrender to wear for a wedding... It looks like something Courtney Love might have worn with Hole back in the 90s, ironically...

Yes to be worn with lashings of black eyeliner, bovver boots and an insolent stare.

I repeat OP, is the bride your sister and do you hate her? Wink

NotARealWookiie · 07/07/2024 12:22

It’s very “look at me” but not very nice?

WaltzingWaters · 07/07/2024 12:24

It’s another never wear that for any occasion vote from me.

itsmylife7 · 07/07/2024 12:26

yes

not bridal but looks like a night gown sorry. there are nicer less night ware looking clothes out there

Skybluepinky · 07/07/2024 12:32

Yes, looks like u wanted to be a bridesmaid and weren’t asked so u chose the ugliest looking bridesmaids dress.

Is it the same toilet roll since the 70’s too?!

Staringatthewalljustmeagain · 07/07/2024 12:39

People would laugh about you in the toilets. Not nice or right, but true.

Vegemiteandhoneyontoast · 07/07/2024 12:39

JFC, that's hideous. Is this a joke? It has to be, surely 😂

Or try to stick her on top of a toilet roll in the toilets…

Sorry OP it usually annoys me when people all say a nice dress isn't nice or is inappropriate but I agree this time unfortunately it's not appropriate.

Or nice.

triangleatthetop · 07/07/2024 12:49

Its not appropriate for a wedding, no. Its more a ball or party dress.

YouOKHun · 07/07/2024 12:53

I’m afraid my first thought, like many others, was one of those dolls with the big skirt to hide the loo roll. It’s more 1970s sex comedy negligee than bridesmaid.

Turmerictolly · 07/07/2024 13:09

🤣

LauderSyme · 07/07/2024 13:17

Gosh OP, I do hope you are handling this thread with fortitude and humour because this is quite the tsunami of criticism about your taste.

Some people would look stunningly lovely in that dress, but probably not many if we are being totally honest and yes, it's too bridal.

Binman · 07/07/2024 13:18

Is this a reverse … or are you asking for a friend?

DollieBantrysPantry · 07/07/2024 12:33

No. 😂 It used to be the coloured stuff (pink or yellow) but these days she only has white toilet paper.

DollieBantrysPantry · 07/07/2024 15:21

Thats good 😂

DollieBantrysPantry · 07/07/2024 15:22

Was thinking if it was the same loo roll it must all but be powder 😂

It's a bit too... something, yes.
