Looking for cheap caravan park holiday

Hello, last year booked for just under a week to stay in a caravan park, really near the beach, in Essex. It had everything on-site: clubhouse, 'kids club' during the day, kids disco and entertainment of an evening, a cafe / bar, a little shop, a swimming pool, there was bingo and so on at night. Was around £300 as booked quite last minute. We have since moved to Berkshire from East London so wondering if anyone can recommend somewhere please? It will be for me and DS1 who is 9 and DS2 who is 5.
I don't drive but a friend has very kindly offered to give us a lift. Essex is now a bit far, as is Blackpool, Skegness, etc. Would not want my friend to have to drive more than 2 or 3 hours each way. Butlins, Pontins, Centreparcs etc are extremely pricey out of term-time so can't really afford those. But due to not driving being somewhere where everything is in 1 place and you don't have to go off-site for food or entertainment would be great.

I know camping is much cheaper but DS2 is autistic and hates tents, hates how noisy it is if you're camping (rain, neighbours etc.), hates the feel of sleeping bags, basically everything about it so have got to rule this out as he just wouldn't enjoy it. He loved being in a mobile home though! 🙂 A chalet or little apartment would be fine though I think it'd be more expensive than a caravan?

Please let me know of any suggestions? Thank you so much!

I don't really know the area I'm afraid but once you've chosen one, I'd look at private rental caravans/chalets etc on Facebook.

There are some real bargains but join a group where the renters are verified.

Bunn Leisure is around 2 hours from Berkshire, depending on whereabouts you are and has plenty to do on site and is right on the coast. Pebble beaches, but a great place to entertain kids.

I would never have thought of this, thank you so much for the suggestion 😃

I didn't go to an Essex site last year?

Mind you I can thoroughly recommend Walton-on-The Naze, Park Dean Resort.

There's also a FB group called something like 'Naze Marine Private Renters' or something like that 👍
