Yep. Supposed to be going to a Family Fun Day organised by DH work with lots of lovely outdoor activities. FFS.

Dr13Hadley · 06/07/2024 11:50

Yep is pissing down here. Welcome to summer ☹️

Shithole101 · 06/07/2024 11:52

Yep shit weather here in London to. It feels like we won't get a summer 😭

ouch321 · 06/07/2024 11:53

In my part of London it rained v heavily for 8 hours non stop yesterday I had to walk in it. Even the stuff inside my bag got wet. Raning now too.

It's too warm for my hooded puffa as well. Umbrella didn't cut it.

Coolblur · 06/07/2024 11:53

No, not yet (central Scotland), but I'm sure it'll rain at some point today. It is the summer holidays after all!

Moveoverdarlin · 06/07/2024 11:54

Yep in the SW it’s cold and wet and blowy. Kids are at football getting soaked. It’s so depressing for July.

Saisong · 06/07/2024 11:55

It's our local carnival today. I'm so glad my kids are past the primary age when it was obligatory to trail them up the high street and spend silly money on fairground tat. Am going to sit in the pub instead!

Comedycook · 06/07/2024 11:56

In London....a bit chilly, drizzly, grey. Just what you'd expect for July!

newnamethanks · 06/07/2024 11:57

And cold. And windy 😡

longdistanceclaraclara · 06/07/2024 11:57

Last night was torrential. Howling wind too. Just started again now. I'm in jeans and a hoodie under a blanket because it's cold but too humid to have the heating on. So over it.

Our bedroom is in the loft conversion so the rain on the velux windows kept me awake most of the night.

Oh, and to top it off my hayfever is horrendous today.

Abracadabra12345 · 06/07/2024 12:20

Yes, just started raining again here in the SE
Trouble is, I'm an autumn/ winter lover so am absolutely at peace with this and know it's wrong!

SushiSheep · 06/07/2024 12:42

I feel for all of you who have outdoor plans today.
Our school had to cancel sports day and the fun activities midweek due to the weather.
You’d think it would be a pretty safe bet to hold these things in July wouldn’t you!

Anyway, just to stop this being another moany thread, what are your favourite or local sayings about the weather?

I love the one in the title, and also “You wouldn’t put a milk bottle out in that!” for anything particularly windy and wet.

It's not raining here although I think it's forecast. At the moment it feels quite warm and the sun breaks through the clouds now and again

Sallycinnamum · 06/07/2024 13:12

I don't mind this weather in autumn or after a spell of hot weather but this is just awful.

The tumble dryer decided to stop working so I've got piles of wet washing everywhere.

I've never known a summer this wet and cold!

SushiSheep · 07/07/2024 13:05

And guess what? It’s raining again!

It’s like Groundhog Day 😂
