Time again for the feeling sorry for the germs down my toilets vs the bleach

Time for another batshit crazy thread 😁

Similar scenario. Ran out of bleach last Sunday but my shopping has now been delivered and I now have bleach.

All those lil germies that have made home down both my loo's the last week are gonna get bleached tonight but I kinda feel sorry for those lil buggers again.

This thread descended into a wonderful wacky thread of feeling sorry for the grape that drops on the floor, feeling sorry for the daisies under the lawnmower, feeling sorry for stinging nettles, etc last time. Let's have another batshit crazy thread! Or maybe we can give names to the germs down my toilets before I bleach them?

Ok, so I sucked up a whole ants nest into my vacuum cleaner (including lots of mini flying ants, which were, admittedly, a bit cute).

Your post is making me feel a bit sorry for them -- but at least they're all together!

Haylestails · 05/07/2024 22:02

Emily1583 · 05/07/2024 21:51

Nope. They are still alive and kicking. For now.

Save the germs!!!

(Says me who killed the germs down my toilet with bleach this morning 😆)

Did you take the hoover outside specifically?

I skinned a Furby today. I want to make one of those freaking long Furby things that pop up on Etsy.
I had to keep closing it's eyes, as it was making me feel so bad.

Oh my that's brutal. I couldn't do that with it's face looking at me.

What about the ants that were out roaming and come back home to find utter devastation or a weird void where home was?

I feel sorry for people's pipes and the sewers because people don't know how to use bleach and think it's for down the bog.

Bellyfullofbiscuits · 05/07/2024 22:11

Emily1583 · 05/07/2024 21:49

Yeah sorry, my bad.

Mine too. In my head, i smell bleach and i think clean. I have to retrain myself.... Bleach bad/ murderous!

Bellyfullofbiscuits · 05/07/2024 22:12

But when you think about it. Do we need to bleach toilet water. Shut the lid and flush?

Grumblevision · 05/07/2024 22:17

I'm going to be the second "that guy": apparently inside spiders don't survive when you put them outside. They're the wrong spiders, grommit.

In a way I think it's their destiny in life but still feel bad for them. Probably found themselves a cushy nook down my toilets the last week.

Bleach is for down the toilet isn't it? It's the only place I use it anyway.

It is odd when you say it like that. Just a thing of habit I suppose seeing my mum do it when I was younger. People buy bleach in the supermarket all the time though so it's generally considered needed I suppose.

That is true. They probably just make a dash to climb back inside again most of the time though.

@Emily1583 I've not seen your previous batshit crazy threads, but wish I had.

I feel really guilty if I separate matching mugs in the cupboard. Especially if I have to put one on a separate shelf from its friends. I feel like it's moving to secondary school and all its mates are in one class but it is alone in another class.I apologise to the mugs and rearrange them. Same is true when stacking the dishwasher. It's unfair if one bowl has to go on the top because there's no space to fit it below with its mates..

When we were dating, DH once complained he had a stone in his shoe. About half an hour later, he took off his shoe to get it out and I teased him that the stone would be so lost and never find its way back across the river to its friends. He genuinely contemplated walking back the way we came so it could find its way home. One of several batshit crazy things about him that made me know he was the one.

coldcallerbaiter · 05/07/2024 22:32

I clean around spiders too. Sometimes they do the mad spinning fast thing.

I try to not use bleach, but sometimes it is the only thing that will clean the kitchen sink really well.

OldTinHat · 05/07/2024 22:34

You've reminded me that I didn't put bleach down my loo! Now I've got to go downstairs again!

Baked beans or spaghetti hoops in a tin. Or kidney beans or the last bit of minestrone soup left behind. No. Nope. Can't happen. They have to be gently encouraged to be heated and devoured.

Has anyone said about eggs? I've not RTFT. If I break an egg and there's a spot of blood/fertilised chicken, I have to get it slowly out of whatever bowl it's in, wrap it in tissue paper and apologise. Then pop it in the bin 🫣

Woodlice in the house. They have the full royal parade and are respectfully escorted back outside on a piece of A4 white paper complete with fireworks and a 24-gun salute.

Cellar spiders, I have learned that they are my friend so leave them be.

Toddlerteaplease · 05/07/2024 22:34

I've found my people! I don't pick up soft toys in shops, as they might get their hopes up that they are being bought. And will get sad if I put them down.

Love that about the stone in the shoe. Will be totally in an alien environment.

And yep matching crockery need to be kept together in company.

Yeah they go nuts don't they. Proper defensive mode. They don't give up without a fight. Don't blame them. Must take ages to make those webs.

I've never once used it in my sink before. I use rhubarb method for that.

Our germs will meet up in germ heaven after bleach o'clock.

Can't say I've ever noticed bits of blood in an egg. I'd totally chuck it out if I did.

And I totally save woodlice. I always have a soft spot for them.

Apparently, the cleanest bit of most households is the loo. Which is nuts. Why does it have to be so clean? It is not like we are eating cereal out of it.

It's always the ones you see dropped in public that get me. Missing their owner.
