Any Drs around? Possible Vit A poisoning

My delightful 3 year old managed to steal the bottle of child vitamin gummies and wolf down 10. She has consumed 20 000IU of vitamin A and wondering if I need to seek medical attention?

I'm not a doctor.
I would phone 111 and ask. They can advise on 'accidental poisoning' which this might count as.

Would definitely call 111.

Call 111

Tell them the exact brand, when they took them, how many and if possible a rough weight.

They will assess your child's current symptoms and then a clinician will call back when they have checked the specific medication against toxbase with specific instructions for your child - whether they can stay at home or if you need to go in to A&E.

btw - the weight is of your child, not the medication.

A&E yes you do need to seek medical attention. 111 will send you to A&E anyway and likely they will need to do blood tests.

A&E will do the same as 111 - check on toxbase and check current symptoms.

You will simply have to wait in A&E for that to happen, rather than in your own home whilst 111 check.

Yes you need medical advice. Any overdose in a child does. How sure are you about the number taken? Does the vitamin contain iron too?
