Is it me, or has the thatch on this house been really badly photoshopped to look pale?
Why would they do this??

It's probably new thatch...it darkens over time.

OttersAreMySpiritAnimal · 05/07/2024 19:08

Nope, looks real to me

PoopingAllTheWay · 05/07/2024 19:08

I would say thats the colour of it

CharliesAngles · 05/07/2024 19:09

Surely it’s just been freshly thatched?

MovingVan · 05/07/2024 19:11

It says in the house particulars that it has just been freshly thatched

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 05/07/2024 19:12

Looks a lot like my aunt's old house! (It isn't, I checked).

I expect they had the thatch redone in order to sell - it's an expensive job and if the place badly needed redoing (which it does every 10-20 years) they might have found it difficult to sell.

TeaandHobnobs · 05/07/2024 19:12

Oh I didn’t even realise it would look that colour new! And in fact, having now read the description, it even says “freshly thatched”.
🤦🏻‍♀️
you learn something new every day, eh?

Yes I would never but a thatched property for this reason. And also needing specialist insurance for the greater fire risk, I believe?

And I realise it is spectacularly dumb not to realise that thatch - made of straw - would be pale yellow when new!!!!
I’m going to blame my tired brain from being up super early watching the election…

Oh it’s gorgeous 😍 I’d have to sell a kidney for it, but it’s lovely!

Greentreesandbushes · 05/07/2024 19:15

Brand new thatch and bright day for photos.

Blarn · 05/07/2024 19:15

Just thatched. At least the sky is a normal colour. All the estates agents I look at photosshop the sky a Mediterranean blue with fluffy clouds even when the outside pictures clearly show it is pouring down with rain.

SuncreamAndIceCream · 05/07/2024 19:15

It looks like a very pretty house.

The description says newly thatched. On street view the old thatch was really ready to be replaced.
