I love an irrational todder tantrum - you know, furious you cut the banana up... after they asked for the banana. So here's my updated version with a 13 year old. Please feel free to add yours.
DS is in a complete state because apparently, after he fell off his bike and hurt his hand, I don't believe him that it hurts. This is interesting as I had a look at his hand, commented on the sore looking graze and that it looked like some bruising around the knuckle, commiserated with him regarding the pain and suggested he take some paracetaomol, then got him an ice pack. I did not give him a hug, sit with him on the couch for his icepack etc because he hates that at the best of times, and he had a friend with him so I figured he'd die if I even gave him a back rub in passing.
He is absolutely FURIOUS with me.
[Admittedly, there is another issue which is that he has been taken to A&E on. multiple occasions only to be told that his finger/arm/foot is NOT broken so I am, obviously, not rushing him to A&E. If it's still sore tomorrow, sure. I suspect this is REALLY why he's annoyed. He wants me to offer to rush him straight up to the hospital]
