Continuous back pain

On Sunday I bent down to pick DC up and my back went. Ever since I’ve been struggling to walk and have had to get family members to take DC to school. I haven’t left the house since Sunday and I’m seriously fed up now.

Yesterday I spoke to a doctor who said I just need to carry on taking painkillers, use a hot water bottle/bath and rest as much as possible. I have done all these things since Sunday and not one has made a difference. I just tried to move off the sofa and had the most horrendous pain. It was like a contraction in my back?

The same actually happened back in January, and again in May and it did eventually go away on its own but this time it seems to be lasting longer.

I can’t keep having this every few months, it’s taking over everyday tasks. I know I don’t need a&e as it’s an on going issue and the doctor I spoke to said it’s only a worry if I lose control of my bladder. I’m wondering if I should go to my gp who may offer a scan or if it’s just one of those things I have to accept may happen
