It's election day..I have read manifestos, listened to debates..and yet I still don't know who gets my vote. I looked at the local candidates...Still don't know.

Anyone else?

Nah I'm desperate for change after 14 years of dragging the country down the pan, high taxes and debt but nothing to show for it, public services decimated. I could go on.

fieldsofbutterflies · 04/07/2024 09:09

None of them inspire me in the slightest 🙈

Me, about to go and I still can’t decide….. they are all so uninspiring!

DoNotScrapeMyDataBishes · 04/07/2024 09:13

Undecided-ish. I'd LIKE to vote Lib Dem but dithering if I vote tactically for Labour instead. I live in a marginal so I really should vote tactically but I cannot stand Starmer so still thinking it through.

CeeJay81 · 04/07/2024 09:14

I've been a little undecided but due to our first past the post system. I'm going to vote for the lesser of the evils. Its more a case of who I def wouldn't vote for, rather than a party I like anymore.

Endsofbells · 04/07/2024 09:14

Same here. I'm having my coffee and then going to vote. Shit show really.

longdistanceclaraclara · 04/07/2024 09:16

Same here. I'd like to vote Lib Dem but really don't like the local candidate.

Larryiwouldvoteforyou · 04/07/2024 09:19

@CatStoleMyChocolate sadly due to boundary changes my MP is now standing for a different constituency

@icelolly12

but... you might be fed up with the rain, but voting for scorched earth makes no sense.

Orangelover · 04/07/2024 09:27

Yes I was undecided but I've gone for it now. I genuinely was hovering over my ballot second guessing.

My indecisiveness was rooting in the fact that the sitting MP in the constituency I live in who has done a great job for the last five years locally, however his party isn't who I would like to see in government nationally.

I've in the end voted tactically for a candidate im less keen on but hopefully it was the right thing to do Smile

Mydoghealsmyheart · 04/07/2024 09:28

We’re the same in my family, have no idea who to vote for but we don’t want the Conservatives in power. It’s really disheartening for the young people too, voting for the first time and being totally uninspired.

what does everyone think the turnout will be?

Whataweirdsituation · 04/07/2024 09:30

I just voted Labour for the first time, tactically bc there’s no way Lib Dems will get anywhere in my area. But yes, it’s a shit show whichever way you look at it and I was deliberating all the way to the polling station.

Larryiwouldvoteforyou · 04/07/2024 09:30

@Mydoghealsmyheart I'm guessing 60%

@Mydoghealsmyheart

my guess...

low with a record number of spoilt papers.

Tactically to get the tories out

Their slash and burn of the UK must stop

HashtagShitShop · 04/07/2024 09:34

Yes I'm about to go vote in the next hour.

All my vote quiz things align me with green, Labour and lib dem. I'm not 100 percent sold on any of them (lib dem spent the election treating it as a gap year for Ed davey, green I haven't heard anything from. Labour... Eh. My labour mp is decent tbf so taking a chance at getting her back ib and more widely we shall see... Our tory mp has done nothing for the town and only appears when there's cameras and other tories about.

martha4clark · 04/07/2024 09:35

Voting tactically to get rid of the SNP. If I was in England, I'd be voting to get rid of the Tory government- I will never forget Partygate.

user1471548941 · 04/07/2024 09:40

Yep…. None of them I think really understand what needs to be done in the economy or healthcare, but one party have had 14 years to get it right and failed so it would make sense to chose an alternative. I can’t vote for Labour due to them being very confused about what a woman is! A tactical vote in my area would be Lib Dems and arguably the “least bad” but they’ve put up a really stupid candidate in my area that I really don’t want as my local MP…. Leaving me with the Tory we’ve had for decades…. But then why haven’t they fixed it…. And so the same debate begins again!!!

Ime Labour have invested back into public services. Tories seem to take the tax money and dish it out to their mates.

I think it will be high 70s because of dissatisfaction. There will be a lot of spoiled votes.
