Just that, dealing with a member of family, no lopsidedness, but loss of balance and serious confusion.

Yes. Call urgently every minute counts

They do a FAST assessment and report it as positive to the hospital if / when they take them in (as in, they would say that the patient is FAST positive) I don't know if the patient has to score on every factor, or just most.

Actual tests to detect whether a stroke has occurred would be done in hospital.

A physical examination and ecg/ bp will give them a good indication.
It would be confirmed in hospital with a scan and blood tests so important to get them there asap if too suspect a stroke.
I've had this twice - with my father it was a very severe stroke.
With my partner they suspected stroke but scan clear and they decided it was a rare type of migraine.

How are they now op?

GlassHeart1 · 05/07/2024 10:16

Thank u.
Were given antibiotics for infection and back home.

I didn't suspect that at all as no temp or any other signs of infection. No scans but still wobbly and confused. I will see how weekend goes...
