How accurate is hiv test at 3weeks and couple days ?

Hey everyone background story made a few post already about it condom broke when having sex guy did cum inside

Got my results back the incident took place in June on 8th so makes it 3 weeks 4 days all results are negative but I've been seeing everywhere that you have to wait at least 4 weeks - 8 weeks for the hiv one to be accurate but I did it at 3 weeks

Did you ask at the clinic that carried out the test?

IDK about now, but it certainly used to be about 6 months

@Gazelda I did a free online one finger prick that said it's 45 days and then 8weeks 100% accurate so I guess I still have to wait a few weeks and test again

It can depend on the type of test done. If it’s a 4th generation test that looks for antigens (which show up earlier) and antibodies it’s 45 days. Any test done at 90 days would be regarded as conclusive
