Period late or contraceptive fail?

fluffmellow · 03/07/2024 14:53

I had a contraceptive failure within 12 hours of my ovulation window ending (roughly, it's hard to be exact as I wasn't tracking). I took the MAP the morning after but I since realised that my ovulation had finished so it would probably be redundant. Period is 3 days late, had a negative test two days ago No sign of AF yet, I have twinges below my belly button, not pain but twinging, unlike usual cramps. I have no idea what this means, has anyone else ever had it? Any advice would be appreciated, I don't know what to do at this point if test was negative but AF isn't making an appearance.

It’s impossible to know. I had twinges when I was pregnant but I also had twinges the months I convinced myself I was pregnant. How many days are you past ovulation (or where you think you ovulated?) I got my positive test at 9days after but some people don’t get theirs until 14/15 days.

Nobody is going to be able to answer this, OP. But I hope it's whatever you want it to be.

The MAP messes with your cycle. Of course there is no guarantee, but the odds are that your period is just late. Take a test to be sure.

14 days today, was 12 when I tested.

Take another test. You can get negative at 12 days. As a PP said though, the MAP can change your cycle so you could just be late. There’s literally no way for anyone to answer for you though..

I think you'd better take another test, OP.

I know, it's more to see if those stomach twinges are indicative of anything, I appreciate everyone's posts, thank you for commenting Smile

One thing I learnt from TTC is that our bodies do things every month that we don’t even realise until we’re paying attention. I was convinced I was pregnant in the first month of trying because I was having little twinges and cramps that I ‘never get’. Turns out i do get them, every month, I just never noticed them before because I wasn’t paying attention. There is no sign of pregnancy that isn’t also a sign of PMS. The only way to know is a test. I hope you get whichever outcome you want OP. Unfortunately my eventual positive didn’t work out in the end.

A test is what you need op.

Your uterus is very small and well inside your pelvis. Unless your belly button is on your mons pubis, what you are feeling is not a pregnancy implanting.

I hope you get the answer you want
