Hi everyone,

My gran has sold her family home that she has been in 50+ years and will be moving in the next few weeks. I really want to get her a gift to remember her home by and just wondered if anyone had any ideas? The only thing I can think of at the moment is a painting of her house (not done by me as I can't paint!)

Maybe a photo book with photos of the house/garden through the ages/now with some memories of living in the home from you/family members.

The photo book idea is AMAZING, OP, totally do as scrivette suggested! If you don't want to make an actual album, you can make a digital scrapbook with photos or design a picture calendar. See if your local photo stores can do that or use one of those calendar makers like https://photo-calendar-software.com/ or https://www.canva.com/create/calendars/ to design it yourself.

Is there a piece of wood that you could sensibly remove/salvage. When they knocked down the local school science block, the local community caffe was gifted a desk and they had a plaque made from it. You could get laser engraver to engrave a picture of the House on it with the dates. The picture book is a great Idea, but I love objects you can touch and feel.

Also just think any a gift to celebrate is a lovely thought x
