Good place for coffee and a catch up near Bristol Temple Meads?

Just what the title says really.

Meeting a friend who has limited mobility. Basically have 2.5 hrs between her train arriving and mine leaving. Don't know the area well but it always feels bit of a desert.

Anyone know a nice relaxed little place, fairly easy to get to, where we can sit, drink coffee and talk ourselves silly?

Thanks!

There’s a Starbucks very close-by. It’s not the most exciting or indie venue, but it serves coffee and cake and has plenty of chairs

Yes, it's out the back of the station.

Not quite coffee and cake, but that's a long stretch over 2.5 hours. Veeno is just over the footbridge and the food is nice. https://www.veenobars.com/bristol

There's a cafe on the station approach which is supposed to be nice

Better than Starbucks I think, I can't remember the name though.

Yes the café on the corner of station approach is actually really nice, I frequently meet a friend there (although haven't for a while and they may have changed hands). It's quite spacious for an indi and serves some interesting things and used to have a long shelf of old books you could look at. You can sit outside too but obviously you're only going to see the main road and station traffic - and lots of people walking in and out of the station if you like people watching. Good loos too. I've also never known it to be crowded.

Perfect! Thanks everyone. I knew the good women of mumsnet would have answers.

It's my oldest friend and in the past we'd just go for a long walk along the waterside, but now she definitely needs to find a relaxed place to sit. We may push the boat out though and do an hour in one and an hour in another!

Thanks again.

Just in case anyone picks up this thread in future, I can confirm that the station approach cafe was perfect. Very relaxed, we had a couple of drinks each over about 2 hours, food looked good too.

I've walked past many times and never been quite certain what it was so thanks for the heads-up, everyone. I'm sure we'll return again.
