Where are my keys?

Had a nightmare this morning, went to leave for the school run then realised I didn't have my keys.

I have looked everywhere where they should be and more, but they're not there.

Where are they?

House keys or car keys

CookieCrumbles23 · 03/07/2024 09:40

I once left my car keys on top of my car overnight 🫣. Also my son has put them in my built in wine rack and behind the couch cushions.

Good luck!

pinklite · 03/07/2024 09:42

My car key is attached to my house key. I went out last night so I obviously had them then, the car is locked so they're not there either. It's like they've disappeared off the face of the Earth!

Have checked the couches, coat pockets, all of my bags

Pray to St Anthony the finder of lost things.

So you came in the door, after locking car?

Then did what?

Bathroom?
Fridge?
Flop on sofa?

You wouldn't have walked around with you keys.

Retrace steps.

pinklite · 03/07/2024 09:53

When I came in last night I went into the front room and I could have sworn I put them on the coffee table

Jeans pocket. I feel like you took the jeans off 🔮

pinklite · 03/07/2024 09:55

@SisterAgatha nope, the only thing I had with pockets was my jacket which I already checked 😓

Next to the bed.

TallulahBetty · 03/07/2024 09:56

Pray to St. Anthony. I'm always asking Ol' Tony where he's put things.

Tel12 · 03/07/2024 09:58

I looked everywhere including my bag 3 times for a substantial set of keys. Next morning I looked again in desperation and there they were right in top of my purse. Couldn't miss them. They're not in the door by any chance?

Alwaystired2023 · 03/07/2024 09:58

In a bag? A cupboard with lots of bags? Shelf? What's on the walk from front door to coffee table?

Fadingmemories · 03/07/2024 09:59

St Anthony worked for me, but only after I had spent £500 changing locks, cutting new keys etc.

Had popped outside to turn the watering system on, seen a large weed in a pot a good arms length away, so popped them down on the nearest pot while I leant over.

St Anthony took two days to tell me and did so at 2am in the morning 😂🤣😂🤣

And there are no surfaces between door and coffee table?

In a shoe by the door/coffee table?

Behind the kettle

Under a book/magazine

Top of fridge (if applicable)

In the cup/glass cupboard

Check sofa again

Where you put remote control (keys down remote up)

Under your pillow

Under bed

(Yes we lose many things and I always find them)

CoffeeBeansGalore · 03/07/2024 10:05

Do you have a dog who could have knocked them off the table - enthusiastic power whip tail?
A cat that likes taking things?

Did you make a drink? Look by the kettle, in the fridge, kitchen worktops, cutlery drawer.

It's quite likely Eddie has your keys. He usually inly takes things for a short time ( although he can hold on to things for months).
He generally puts things back in a place you know you have already looked. Occasionally he replaces them somewhere you'd swear you haven't been, or somewhere totally weird, usually it's where yoy have already checked.
We usually call out loud, Eddie, ca we have our ( lost item) back please? Then start searching again . This technique almost always works.
Who is Eddie?
He's based on a misunderstanding by Arthur Dent a naive earthling, on an alien spaceship. Strange things are happening and it's explained to Arthur, "Caused by eddies in the space-time continuum."
Arthur, musunderstanding replies, "Oh, is he?"
Hence Eddie, with our missing objects, somewhere in the space-time continuum.
