Does who sleep with tampons... How long do they last?

Because of some medication I have to apply down there I have to sleep with a tampon. I did it last night for the first time and to my horror I woke up to a mini pool of blood and was leaving drops everywhere between my bed and the toilet. It was only 4 hours so I'm a bit surprised the super absorbent one (the orange one) couldn't even take 4 hours!

depends. I would never sleep with just a tampon. I would sleep with largest tampon and multiple night time pads, and still change in the middle of the night, probably more than once

Wear a pad with a super absorbant tampon.

Depending on the type of medication you're using, if it's an ointment or cream it could have left a coating on the outside of the tampon making it less absorbent.

It's on my buttcheeks and labia that needs to be applied to and it needs to be dry. So it doesn't touch the tampon. The tampon just helps with keeping it dry

Ummm so was the tampon for keeping the area dry for the cream? Or do you mean you’d usually use a sanitary towel to catch the blood but needed to use a tampon instead? Tampons can sometimes last overnight but when I’m heavy it wouldn’t and often floods in the morning… i use period pants as well as a tampon.

The former. Tampon was to keep the area clean and dry for as long as possible.

I rarely use tampons, but I'll always stain my PJs no matter what even if I wear a large pad and a panty liner. I expected some leakage and maybe to last a bit longer than 4 hours!
