New company name ideas - Help please!

Does anyone have any good ideas for a company name for electrician please. Or is it best to stick to boring one with our name in it?

Unless it was a personal recommendation, I'd chose a company with a sensible name over a funny one.

If I was looking for an electrician I would Google ‘electrician +city’ to try and find someone local, Although I did see a pic of a flooring van the other day & the business was called Lino Richie with ‘Hello is it me you’re looking floor?’ on the side 🤣

I would definitely choose to employ an electrical company with a boring name over a silly pun name. This goes for almost any business really but particularly one where you want to trust that they are fairly sensible.

100% agree with this. Electrical work is a serious business and when choosing an electrician I want to be able to rely on their expertise and trustworthiness. I definitely am not looking for quirkiness or humour. Putting your real name on your company is a bit like offering your guarantee; I don't think you can do better than this.

I agree with keeping things straight forward, ie
Your Name > electricals / electrical engineering > in City.
Save the quirky names for coffee / cake shops

Thompson Electrical / then use one of the fun ideas as your strapline/slogan

As fun as they are, I want my electrician to take his job seriously. I know it’s just a name but I’d have more confidence in Thompson Electricals than Sparky McSparkface.
I want to feel he’s going to sign off all the certificates, and not blow up my circuit board.

I’d just go for Thompsons electrics and then the name of the area or city you’re operating in.

If I'm looking for a tradesperson I google, well in this case, "electrician" and my home town.

Jane Thompson Electrician or J L Thompson Electrician would be just fine.
