I was texting my friend. I told her that even though my ex (I recently left him) treated me horribly, I cried Everytime I remembered the times he did good things to me.

She replied: "This is the very complex and divine duality of every person and living being. Learning to accept that without hating may be one of the most awakening experiences ever."

Do you agree ?

Do people actually talk like that in real life?!

She’s a knobhead.

JamSandle · 02/07/2024 20:53

Yes. Most people have contradicting feelings that co-exist. Happy and sad. Angry but you feel love. Its normal.

minipie · 02/07/2024 20:54

Guessing she’s into crystals and auras and whatnot?

She meant it as in my ex's behaviour, treating me horribly and then doing nice things to counterbalance it was. She wasn't talking about the way I felt about him

She talks like a self help book in real life? That would grate my last nerve real quick.

And no.

thistimelastweek · 02/07/2024 20:57

She's kinda right and she's kinda an arse

Mumoftwo1316 · 02/07/2024 20:58

No.

What it is, is the way he conditioned you to feel grateful for the rare times he was good to you.

You'll gradually get over him completely.

Mumoftwo1316 · 02/07/2024 20:59

I also use words like divine in everyday life.

But...this ain't it
