Root canal pain after treatment

How long does aching last after a root canal appointment in your experience?

Hi, I’ve just been reading your previous threads and was just wondering if you had it done today.
how did it go? I’ve been told I need a root canal and a crown fitted. He said it might/might not fail but to see what happens. Problem is I’m terrified of the dentist and would rather not waste the £700 quoted for the root canal to fail. I’m wondering if extraction would be better and then it would be done and dusted.

It feels a lot better today thank you! Luckily I was NHS, so only paid band 2 (around £70/£80), but need to pay for the crown. She said they’re never 100% success rate, but I’m desperate to keep the tooth. I guess I’m just gonna live in constant fear of it playing up again x

If I was paying that much I would definitely go to a specialist rather than a normal dentist x

How you feeling now? I hope you’re not in too much discomfort. I decided to get a second opinion. I saw a dentist the other week who said I needed a total of 9 fillings!!! There was absolutely no way I needed 9 so went for a second opinion at my old dentist. They have said I don’t need a root canal just a new filling and only another 2 possibly 3 small ones!! Couldn’t believe it!
