This is awful - woman dies at "slapping workshop"

When I saw the headline I thought it was a mistake but it wasn't.

It was being marketed as a cure for diabetes... she was fasting and agreeing to be slapped and slapping herself... looking for an alternative to needles

So sad... but how the hell is this kind of thing even allowed to happen? How could he not have done something to save her sooner..

A little boy died in Australia from it too, a 6 year old. She made her choice I’m afraid, however the little boy didn’t his parents did.

He 'believed 'he could cure this ladies type 1 diabetes with slapping.....wtf???

The worst thing about it is she isn't the first to have died as a result of Slapping Therapy. A seven year old boy died in a similar way.

@Janehasamane is right. He was extradited to Australia in 2017 - which explains why it's taken to long for this case to come to trial. Poor little boy.

Millions of men people believe that crushed bits of endangered animals will make them potent. They spend £££$$$$, poachers/whale hunters/seal hunters, etc, make even more.
Then again, many people believe filling their faces with a toxin, or making their lips look like tyres makes them look younger/attractive.
Se seemingly sentient beings make inexplicable decisions because they fall for someone's flannel.

Just to be clear, this woman died because she stopped her insulin for 4 days (as did the 6 year old), on this guy’s instruction. The slapping is a distraction.

Apparently she had a phobia of needles. She was hoping to be cured so she didn't have to inject. It really is unbelievable that anyone would think fasting and being slapped would cure T1. And her death would have been very painful. It doesn't bear thinking about.

It sounds dreadful, and virtually unbelievable.
