But also a bit scared that this is what he has to face in a very ordinary job.

He's working as shift manager in a small branch of a large chainstore. Often only 2/3 staff on.

He returned from his break to find (in his words) a massive old man, giving abuse to two young female members of staff. He probably means middle aged 😆 As DS approached, hoping to calm things down, he heard the man use foul sexisit language so he asked him to leave and escorted him out.

It sounds like at this point the man became compliant and apologetic (I also had a conversation with DS about how it's amazing how that happens when a 6'3" man appears!)

Ds is tall, but only 22 himself.

Anyway, it sounds like he handled it well, but it's shocking what retail staff have to deal with and they are quite vulnerable in that shop. Police never come when they've had to call them, either about shoplifting or violent threats.
