Why didn't my DC get chicken pox?

A few months ago my older DC got chickenpox. Obviously my younger DC was in close proximity before during and after but never caught it!

What are the chances ?! Could they be immune?

My sister didn't get it as a child despite much exposure. However she caught it at 20 from my DC and was really ill. She still blames me for her scars.

My dc are 13 and 16 and have never had chicken pox.... despite being exposed to it many times

Mine are around the same age (one being 10) and also haven’t had it yet. They’ve been exposed to it almost every year since nursery, including another outbreak in May.

I think I’m just going to get them vaccinated some time in the next year.
