Does anyone know where I can get some prescription sunglasses from quickly?

Preferably on the cheaper side!

I go away on Sunday and would love a pair ready before then.

Really appreciate I've probably left it too late 💀

You could try getting an appointment with specsavers tomorrow - they're usually pretty quick to fulfil prescriptions in my experience.

How complicated is your prescription? Is it up to date - within two years?

There are some online opticians with 24 hour dispatch but if your prescription is not straightforward it’s unlikely you’ll find anywhere that can make them and deliver before you go away unfortunately.

No harm in asking though!

The bigger branches of the chains like SpecSavers and Vision Express have a 1 hour service.

What do you need them for? If it's just reading and you have a standard prescription, you can get ready made ones in Boots etc www.goodlookers.co.uk/reading-sunglasses

Vision Express will do them tomorrow in an hour or 2- won't be cheap though.
DH is blind as a bat without his and we have twice had to do a mercy dash and get same day glasses for him. We use Specsavers now so he always has a back up pair.

Pound shop do ready readers sunglasses

mandymeans · 01/07/2024 23:25

Don't need them for reading, just seeing from a distance

My prescription is had a basic -3.5 in both eyes 👀

If you’re super struggling you can get sunglasses frames that clip to the front of your usual glasses. I bought some cheaply from Temu but you can Amazon prime in time

@mandymeans

😎 Have you found anywhere doing the one hour?

Probably missed for today but still time if your prescription is in date within last two years - you could try ordering here prices are not too bad and free delivery in time for your hols? I don’t work there but have ordered from them before and they were very nice and helpful:

Dp wears a pair of normal sunglasses over his prescription glasses

ashiningbeaconinspace · 02/07/2024 18:51

I use "fit over" sunglasses over my prescription glasses.

cheesychipsontheoche · 02/07/2024 19:01

I've got a couple of pairs of the "fit over" frames and they're pretty good to be honest, though my choice would always be big frames sunglasses anyway
Cheap ish off Amazon at the moment
