Double Vision

Posted in chat because I can’t see where else I could post it to. Does anyone have experience of reporting double vision to the DVLA? I’ve been struggling with this condition for a while and finally been seen by my local Eye Unit Orthoptics Department. They have Prescribed me a prism for the affected eye which seems to have fixed the problem but told me to report it to DVLA. It is unclear from the website whether I would need to stop driving or whether they would let me continue pending confirmation of treatment.

I think if your prism is working then you will be fine. I had this condition and the eye person allowed me to keep driving even without the prism. I went to see someone from the college of optometrists in vision development and they fixed the double vision with exercises. Good luck!

Thanks for this. With the prism I’m seeing everything more clearly & easily than I have in a very long time, so it would be hugely ironic if I had to stop driving now!
